Hi guys what’s going on with my frogspawn seems to only have 1 head of its flourescent tips the rest are browning /dulling, still green under blues but just not doing well

Please post current parameters, lighting used and a picture using just white lighting.

Phosphate is like 0.1

Nitrate high is a problem. Also need to know calcium and magnesium. I've never heard of those lights which could also be an issue.

If I understood your comment and ur tank is still cycling that's ur problem. You can't grab a piece of rock from a older tank and dose some good bacteria to speed up the process?

I just looked at the other pic's. You have other corals in there that look fine. Is it possible that that head got stung? Because other heads look fine

I moved it the the bottom of the tank near higher flow before it was only next to a kenyan tree and the toadstool don’t see anything bc stinging it i’d say that’s not an option

Young tank and parameters being off are your issues. Get a reliable test for alkalinity, nitrate, phosphate, magnesium and calcium. Ensure all of those parameters are in suggested ranges. Any other advice is second to this.

this is not likely a parameter issue but rather husbandry. While frogspawn and euphyllia are not picky about placement, the sandbed is not an ideal location as they are easily irritated by loose sand. The big key is to avoid the extremes- Extreme light and extreme water flow. You want them waving in the current but not bent over their skeleton. Too little light and they wither/recede and too much ight and they bleach. Light should be moderate to medium to allow production of their zooxanthellae which is their energy source and flow subtle to moderate.
Because they are a skeletal coral with polyp, calcium of at least 380-400 is required.
Assure salinity and Phos levels are Not elevated. Feed a few mysis shrimp 2-3X per week

The coral appears to be bleaching. It is likely that the lighting is too high and nutrients are too low—you’ll definitely want to improve those things quickly before the coral recedes and dies

Just says nitrate is high, while no reading of magnesium or calcium. Ruling out parameters is a stretch imo.

I only just put it to the bottom of the tank to see how it performs under higher flow but it looks like it might die.

Bring ot to lower third to mid tank

If you saw any of mine- they tolerate nitrate well, Phos , not so well

No one is doubting your experience and success. If I remember correctly you keep your nitrate around 5 though don't you? Just friendly banter here, text doesn't always come out with the right feelings behind it.

5 for nems and other delicate otherwise 10 to 15 acceptable. Any later posts, you will notice I have recommended <10
