Hello reefer community! I’m a veteran and westchester NY resident. I’m about to embark on a challenge to increase my knowledge & skills and I need your expertise. I’ve been reefing for about 3 years now and have had great success with a LPS and softy dominate 39 gallon. I now want to expand my knowledge with SPS which has been the bane of my existence in the hobby. I’m starting a 40 gal peninsula within the next upcoming weeks which I intent to document thoroughly and share with you all via my build thread (project dreadnought). I would love to hear all your feedback & knowledge; especially if you have had great success with SPS in the past or present.

Also, I scuba and have an affection for all things ocean and navel (thus the ship reference for my tank names lol) if anyone has any interest in those things I’d be glad to talk about that as well. Thank you for your time!

My 29 gal (Saratoga):

First, thank you for your service. Secondly, a warm welcome to R2R and your new reefing family. Lastly, can't wait to watch your peninsula come together.

We definitely are few and far between lol I’d definitely be interested in a club. I live in Yonkers and work in Vahalla so White Plains is definitely within distance for me. Thank you for the invite! How do I join?

I’ll DM you details of club. (Club May b a bit of exaggeration more like a small group [emoji23])We basically communicate vía a thread on a NY forum.

Hey since we r close we should meet up some time and compare tanks.

Welcome!!!
Naming fish but naming tanks... I like it! We are here to help. Everything you need to know to keep SPS tanks is right here. Do what you are doing on your current tanks and just tighten up the parameters. Consistency is the key. Changes/fluctuations are the enemy of SPS's.

I know I’m weird I blame it on coral poisoning [emoji23][emoji23]
