After a long summer with admittedly less than Best tank maintenance, I was out of town a month with a student feeding and topping of ATOs only, Duncan’s and Nems have exploded. Two Duncan frags have quadrupled in size and number of heads and Nems split like crazy went from 4 to 9 in one tank and 2 to 6 in Bio Cube... all looks great though and healthy.

That’s amazing! Man those RBTA’s are gorgeous... would love something with that color.

You guys are doing such great work!

Thank you... I feel like we are over run. Trying to decide how to thin these guys out a bit. Like a box to put them in until I can find them new homes or something.

Around here local reefers will jump at a chance to pick those up for $20-25 each. Maybe you could get some new gear? Or just extra salt/food. Maybe even see if your local fish store will accept them as trade in for store credit

Eagle Reef needs a little advice. We have a 90 fowlr now that sits about 5 feet from the 75 Reef. We are trying to decide if we need a new apex for this tank or if we can daisy chain to another EB8 and modules and run both tanks from the APEX JR we have? pros /cons please.... GO

So newest update to our Eagle Reef. Two students made us some shelf brackets in metal shop and installed them over tank. Thinking is to put a shelf above tank and hang lights from bottom of it. Lights will still sit in canopy but now when we remove canopy for tank maintenance the lights can stay above the tank so we can see what we are doing. Currently we stand the light rail against the wall as seen in pic 1.

It has been suggested that we eliminate canopy all together and let brackets and lights stand alone?

That’s very cool! If you do eliminate the canopy I could see 1, the heaters coming on more, 2) evaporating more and 3) the need for a net top to ensure no one jumps out.

I have always gone canopyless because I like the minimal look without. One benefit could be increased air exchange and potentially bump up Ph

my concern with the no canopy is visible light wires? how do you handle that

Learn to ignore them lol

Or two other approaches... 1) Cord channels on the wall, stream line them

2) chord pockets, I have some like neoprene zippers that bunch all cords together and only have one going down
