Had these pop up growing out of the Marine pure media in my sump. Do they need to be removed?

Caulerpa racemosa I think. Looks similar

It's never spread badly for me, just comes and goes. It's called Mermaids cup algae or Acetabularia

Weird. Looks like a paly. Or a macro.
