I literally was about to start building the stockman standpipe or dorso pipe and walked into my garage looked at all my pvc pieces and seen a 3way pvc and said screw it what can this hurt it’s completely open so nothing can get stuck and clog it and woola complete quietness. So with everyone always helping me I have to show this to everyone. So if you have loud overflow try this before anything else fixed my completely. Literally not a sound from it anymore. Awesome and so easy to do. Can’t upload videos on here idk how or why but this is link to youtube.

I actually got it even quieter by pushing it down all way and turning it slightly so one side isn’t right up against the side of the box and complete silence

You can reduce the risk of noise even further if you use a gate valve under the main drain bulkhead, and remove it's standpipe.
Having the water level a number of inches above the bulkhead will keep it silent.
I run mine @ about 4-1/2" deep
