Considering getting one or maybe a pair of pipefish for my 50 tall. Liveaquaria says a pair of them would be fine in a 50, but I would love some input. They’re marked as expert-only, since they prefer copepods I believe. The tank is well developed, has a fat mandarin dragonette, and I recently added more pods just to be safe.

Current inhabitants include: 2 adult ocellaris, a mandarin dragonette, a baby Valentini puffer, and a young yellow long-nose butterflyfish (he’s doing fantastically but we will be upgrading to keep him happy!)

Can someone who has owned a pipefish or two weigh in please?

If you already have a mandarin then I would be nervous about adding a pair since you will have a lot of pods getting eaten very fast. The dragon face is the easiest from my experience
