Red Sea Magnesium Pro is about as easy/hard as any other Red Sea titration test... Which means that while it's not simple per-se, it's at least no harder than all the others from them. And when you follow the same basic steps with every test type you're doing, it all becomes that much easier.

I picked up the Reef Foundation kit, which included Mg along with Ca and Alk - the last of which I've only used once or twice when my Hanna checker gave oddball results.

(Caveat: Never tried another brand.)

Any kit that comes with a titrator.

The old "add one drop, put the lid on, shake, repeat" kits are why I rarely tested Mg in the past.

Nyos magnesium kit is pretty easy and accurate.

-add 1ml tank water to test vial
-add 1ml reagent #1
-add 1 scoop of reagent #2
-swirl for 10 seconds or so
-draw up 1ml of reagent 3 and titrate until color change achieved.
-note amount used and check chart for reading

I use the Red Sea mag test and I think it's pretty easy. But I also have not tryed other brand mag tests so don't have anything to compare to.

Salifert. Haven't tried others though, but the color change is very easy and apparent.

I haven't tried the others but the salifert is super easy, super quick and extremely easy to read.

That's what I use. And I have the same caveat.

Salifert for me. Color change is sudden and profound. Only "complaint" is according to the instructions you can't add 80% of the expected amount of reagent like you can on the calcium kit.

Red Sea Pro tests, new, were put into the trash. They were so far out from Triton test. Elos seems to be the closest to Triton test.

I like my Salifert test, and while it has 1 extra step it is pretty easy in my opinion. I do add 80% of the syringe to where I expect my Mg to be, and then go drop by drop. I've read articles where it is very close to Triton numbers. I would try Elos second.

Red Sea's is really easy to see the color change. But that's because it's the only mag test I've used and can say. I'd say go for the best value.
