Local LFS store is selling cutters for $50 to cut off the stems of frag disks! Can someone let me know what sort of cutters I can get at big box hardware stores that will do the job easily - clean cuts and minimal effort.

Thanks

Side cutters from big box store. Will leave a small nub if not a clean cut. Keep them dry as they rust quickly.

If you want to go high end, I would recommend a pair of high carbon stainless steel Bonsai concave cutting pliers. It can cut through a 1/2 hardwood branch in a heart beat. Plus, they won’t rust. I’ve had this pair for 10 years and it’s still sharp. Makes perfect cuts. Mine is not the “real” high end cutter, but close. I think around $137 ten years ago. It’s made by Fujiyama. All good Bonsai cutters come from Japan and last forever.
