well... it got me married. apparently come up and see my sketches doesn t hold a candle to come up and see my octopus. it was a joy, though nocturnal, it would come out if you played music with a lot of bass. the vibrations bled through the floor into the tank and she would come out everytime. ate a cortez angel when i was on the phone once. my theory was to keep it fed and i could keep other tankmates with it. this was the lone disappointment to that theory. thanks for asking.Welcome to r2r! how was it having that octopus for 2 years??
Welcome to R2Rjust joined, thought i would introduce myself so people could decide whether or not to read my posts. I have been into saltwater fish for 60 years. i started with seahorses when i was 8. had to hatch my own brine shrimp. i claim to have invented a surge system (see Carlson surge) at least 2 years prior to Carlson. I used bell siphons, an oversized sump and 2 purge tanks on top of the vision tank in my attic. I have successfully kept an octopus for 2 years but will no longer keep such an intelligent animal in captivity. i think i have plumbed over 50 tanks in my life from 2 gallons up to 600 gallons. i have never had a spectacular failure but i have had plenty of failures which have led to a bit of experience. hope this helps in choosing to read my posts or not.
