easy high lighting coral

what’s an easy high light coral that dosent need special care and that won’t be bothered every week by being out of the water when i do my water change i was thinking about more frogspawn but i kinda want to put something else up there so any suggestions would be nice

Well what is high lighting for you? Do you have any idea what the Par is? Frogspawn don't like a TON of light. All my Euphyllia get about 100-150 par at the 3/4 deep mark at my tank and are happy. But if a frogspawn is happy you could look into hammer and torches. My Goniopora was getting around 250 Par and loved it. I has doubled in size in 2ish months. I recently moved it lower due to a tank move and its still happy and growing.

i have an ai prime 8 inches above the tank and the top of the rock is about 4 inches from the waters surface and i have a frogspawn right now in high light off to the side of it and it seems really happy and i have a goniapora lower on the rock as well i can also send a picture of the tank if that helps

Check this pdf out. Lists most corals and their requirements. Might help to pinpoint hight light corals. I also keep a copy next to my tank to cross reference when I get something new. I also check youtube tidal gardens has a good video series on each type of corals. They break down the care for each.

Yeah....this. My froggies also prefer 100-150 par. Any brighter and they dont fully open. Some Euyphillia will acclimate over time to bright light but they are a deeper water coral by nature.

Throw a green pocillopora up there. They love light and are tough to kill.

LPS are not a good option IMO. Their very sharp skeleton would most likely cut the delicate tissue when out of the water from their weight. SPS are a better choice, their polyps can retract in and would not be damaged the same way LPS such as Euphyillia would be.

i would try sps but i’m kinda scared of them to be honest

yea when mine was on the sand bed it opened to an inch now it’s like 5 inches from the waters surface and it opens to around 3 inches in diameter now
