Easy maintenance media reactor

currently using Nextreef media reactor for gfo and carbon. Looking for easier to maintain media reactor, similar to spyglass by Avast marine. Any suggestions?
It will be in sump, and looking for small footprint

The Nyos are pretty simple, pump is in the base and you just twist in and out.

That’s another one that I am considering, how to wash the new media with this system?

Place the Torq in a 5 gallon bucket run until mostly clean. Do you use sponges or filter floss?

NextReef has been out of business for a number of years, so its probably not a good choice if you ever need parts or support.

I have an Avast Spyglass small. I purchased the rinse lid and a spare Sicce nano pump with an extra Avast pump coupling fitting. It makes rinsing the media in the kitchen sink an absolute breeze.

Nyos reactor has too many design flaws. The concept is good but it’s currently collecting dust for me.

Read the reviews on sites. The pump
Is not good, the bottom of the reactor chamber isn’t strong enough and I’ve had carbon all over the sump multiple times. Ultimately tried to use it as a biopellet reactor but the pump isn’t good enough for that either...

I like my sicce reactor even though it’s a pretty standard traditional style. Somatic ones are good and cheap.

My advice is to go old school and spend time maintaining...

Innovative marine makes a easy to use reactor. They have the desktop and in sump Verizon, I have the desktop ver. in my sump.

I am too looking for an easy to change and maintain reactor.
I’m between the avast marine and the nyos torq.
Only reason the avast is t the clear winner is because I’m worried about the carbon bouncing around in the reactor and not tightly packed together.

I just set up two Aquamaxx reactors over the weekend and so far, I’m very happy with them.

only time will tell if they’re easier to maintain and change out than my old BRS dual jumbo canister reactors, which I hated, and makes the task easier and more likely for me to do

Is there an easy way to rinse the media for those reactors?

I just ran tap water through it until it was clear. Wasn’t too bad. I’ve also seen people run tank water through it until it’s clear and run the outlet to a bucket.
