Easy to keep sps for sps newby

seriatopora,
montipora digitata, montipora capricornis, lots of other montipora
Acrpora youngei, acropora valida

Hydnophora is an easy one, more of a LPS.

I always forget about that one.... And for that reason in particular

Yup me too!!!!! In my book the only thing sps about is the appearance when totally extended. Scroll/Turbinaria should not be listed as an sps either, but sigh I digress!

I'll add Pocilliopora as well.

I've read hydrophora has a powerful sting I'm looking into communal sps that can grow together with no problems.

You are correct in that Hydnophora is pretty aggressive. If you want the sps to grow close in proximity you should probably stick with the Montipora and the Seriatopora.

I'd definitely agree that both Montipora and Seriatopora species will be great intro SPS to start out with. Both species have a long history in the hobby with many color and growth variations. Bonus is that they mostly get along very well with one another and be kept in mixed colonies, which looks great and saves valuable tank real estate.

My mixed Birdsnests (
Seriatopora caliendrum and S. hystrix combined) colony
