Easy way to catch fish

A couple weeks ago I was trading in a couple fish that I didn't want anymore (Blue/green reef chromes) for some frags. I was fretting trying to catch them without destroying my live rock because they were pretty fast and quick to hide. Then a light bulb hit and I came up with this:

1. Stick your net in to just above the net and let it hang out for a few until the fish stop freaking out.
2. Take a handful of pellets or food that floats and drop them in near the net.
3. Wait for the fish you want to come near then scoop them up.

It worked pretty easy for me and didn't have me stress the others out too much with my net flailing around and tearing up live rock.

I have used a similar method. The only variation I used was turning lights off after feeding. This worked very well on damsels for me.

Good call on the lights being off. Mine weren't on yet, but it was earl afternoon (my lights run 3-12pm) so I had natural sunlight to work with.

Im trying to catch a flame angel. He does not eat the food mostly swims in and out of the rocks, trying to eat algea. Hes been picking on the feather dusters in the tank. I want him gone, i was thinking speargun. Anyone have any suggestions?
Blow dart gun i think might work.

I would think a spear gun or two is the best bet. Invite some buddy's over, give them beer and spear guns. Catch that guy.

For real, I'm not sure. My Chromis were fiends and came right to the top for anything the could get (hence using pellets)

Bummer you want to get rid of him. They are my favorite!

What about a wrasse? I'm trying to get rid of my peppermint hogfish. It's gotten to a huge size and kills all new flasher wrasses like they're food. Problem is that he sleeps in the rocks at night, so I can't catch him.

Any suggestions? I know that there are a few people with wrasse filled tanks that are still able to remove more aggressive wrasses. They're tough buggers to get!
