Eating sps please ID NOCTURNAL ONLY

Potentially dumb question, but are you sure that they're eating the SPS and not eating algae off of a dying sps? I've never heard of sps eating snails...although i'm sure it's possible. Do you have any pictures of the coral that they're eating?
 
Been doing this for 15 years also transshipping and encounter many hitchhikers in my life yes it is eating the flesh off the Monti in the middle of the night those nails would come out and crawl on the monti and eat the flesh off of it causing white patches in the morning. I'll Video recorded one day when I see it happen
 
found similar posts on other communities as far back as 2013. Not much in way of ID though. Success was had by merely hunting the culprits once the lights went off, removing and moving on. Nothing in the way of propagation of the snails in tanks from what I've read
