Eb832 not supplying power

You have to unplug all devices from the 832 and remove 120 volt main power before resetting the breaker. I’d remove any aquabus cables as well. Reset then see if you have power on the outlets plugging one device in at a time.

I had to unplug eb832, unplug all accessories and then hit reset and reconnect everything. Mark your plugs #1, #2, and so forth to plug back into right receptacles. Also check breaker or source that the eb832 is plugged into to assure that's not tripeed.

I have the same issue. I sent it for repair and they want $183 to replace the PCB lol. I told them to keep their piece of junk

thats odd. I opened a ticket and was offered a discounted price to replace vs repair. I took the replacement option

Have seen this a few times now. bad PCB. Not much you can do but send it in and accept whatever they offer to replace or repair it.

I just had an outlet go bad on my EB832 (always supplying power, doesnt know it), but that's a different issue.

I would just politely ask if there is a replacement purchase option in lieu of you having to run out and buy a full retail replacement. I have a buddy that had the exact same problem and he was the one that told me about the option...however it was offered to me before I needed to ask. Unfortunately this is not an uncommon problem for these EB832s. I'm hoping the replacement has some quality issues resolved and will last longer.

What was the main reason for the error? Just got one a week ago, was working fine until this error..

this thread is wild....
I’m still using my original EB8s that came with my original apex (not the new orange ones) and even have my heaters plugged into it kicking on/off for years now with no issues, meanwhile some of you have brand new EB832 and this happens in less than a year...

I do NOT think I will be “upgrading” after seeing this.

I pulled out my eb8 when the eb832 went out. I was going to sell the old apex but decided after this event to just save for parts. Eventually I’m sure I’ll reuse everything like the probes and eb8 again. Agreed things just don’t work as they used to. Quality down the drain. Not specific to Apex just general comment and apex is not immuned.

Cause? Unknown specifics if it’s the board or other electronics. Just can’t be user serviceable and needs to be sent to neptune for repair or replace.

All too familiar. My EB832 lasted about 18 months, then the circuit board went out. This is in contrast to two EB8s that range from 5-10 years old.

Same issue just got my new eb832. Prob should of bought 2 EB*8's instead.

Happening to me now... of course right now got people coming for christmas so under the gun for time and problem surfaced at 11:50 now i'm sitting here waiting for Trident Full test to stop running. what the heck

Are these your symptoms?

Thread 'Fixing an EB832 with non-functional outlets but does have functional indicator lights' https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/f...does-have-functional-indicator-lights.786304/
I remember this thread and besides voiding any warranties, many will not be willing to do this and risk further electrical failure.
Additionally, there has been a flux of issues wuith the EB832 this past calendar year which questions the quality and true dependability of these units. At $799 for a system, i dont think there are too many happy victims of this failure.

I got lucky twice by unplugging all plugs into outlets, then unplugging EB832 for 15 mins and plugging in eb832 back in, hitting the yellow reset on the back although not extended and when i plugged in outlets- all worked again.
Assure your firmware is also up to date on eb832

Oh I absolutely agree that users should be using warranties way before they try to diagnose their own equipment, but for many users money and warranties are not available

Try this:
Unplug all the components plugged in. Then unplug the eb832.
After a couple of minutes, plug it back in and press the yellow reset button on back of unit.
Plug components back and see if you have power

Yep, tried that and also performed a firmware update. Not fixed. A bit disappointed...
