Ebay LEDS

I see a lot of ppl running their lights with blues up a lot higher than the whites..why is that?

In my experience, white produces more PAR than actinics. It's more of the grow light of an LED fixture. SPS will bleached for having too much ( too early ) of the white grow part of an LED fixture. It is always wise to acclimate first.

My sps are still acclimating. So I have 100% Blue & 15% Whites only. Every month I raise it at 5% whites until I fine tuned at 45% whites later on. Because I once bleached a colony or two by blasting everything up all at once before.

- Also, most of the LFS here in our area are running 100% Blue / 35% Whites and everything is well.

To not bleach? That's my guess
Well it depends on how big the system is or what type of living things you have in the tank. It's all a matter of fine tuning. :)

One good indicator for me is everytime my Zoanthids on the floor are extending or reaching for lights, I turn the knob a bit until it goes back to normal. It's just a matter of fine tuning. Just don't blast them all at once. :)

These lights are powerful enough to bleach any matured sps colonies within days. SPS can adjust from a lower light, not from an extreme conditions.

I've had nothing but trouble with the three fixtures I bought from Greensun Ltd out of China. Even though still under warranty they refuse to repair unless I pay to ship them to their repair person in FL. On the other hand, a friend of mine has had five small Chinese fixtures over his reef tank for years and they're doing great, corals are.fabulous. Hit and miss, but as to customer service, just my opinion, but stay away from Greensun.

I just ordered popular grow 165w full spectrum. Il be keeping a log on how they work
