Need to get some sales up to clear some room in my frag tank (and help towards upgrading the setup), but not sure if I should put the stuff up on here at a fixed price (and possibly deal with flack for it) or just Ebay it and see whatever happens. If I ebay it, can I post up on here that I have auctions going on? I know sometimes ebay links aren't allowed, but vendors are able to. I'm by no means a commercial seller, but I'm also not a sponsor so not sure what's approved/allowed.

Thanks!

(btw, I don't have any auctions up nor pre-planned or anything, so not posting this to somehow draw attention to something.)

Ebay - you have to build a reputation just as you do when having a website. Otherwise the coral can and most likely will sell for next to nothing. As for posting a link on the forum, I know that would not be allowed. Myself and all of the other vendors pay a premium price per month to advertise on R2R. Therefore, the moderators would not allow such a thing. If you are a true hobbyist then you should not have any issues from moderators, hobbyist or vendors if you post them for sale in the for sale section of R2R.

Thanks Gary, and by all means, the last thing I wanted to do was step on the toes of you vendors who pay for this place, figured it best to ask well ahead of time so as not to have issues. And yea, I know rep is everything on ebay, I think I'm close to a blue star (?) from selling some crud from a hobby I was into as a teenager.

And the flack I was meaning was some members (not mods/admins) give crud to people selling stuff in the FS section on here. That headache was what I was thinking of avoiding.

Right now EBAY has free listing at any starting price. So put them up at the price you want. If you don't get it, no loss right?

Heck with that nonsense. Post away!

I agree. Keep in mind, no matter what you do or where you do it you are never going to make everyone happy. If you get flack from members then let the mods know and they will straighten out the post for you. For sale threads are not suppose to have comments about your sales methods. The rules of R2R do not allow and comments about whats for sale other than if someone is interested in what you have to offer. Again, if someone crosses the line in your for sale post just let a MOD know or report the post.

I say you just give it all to your roommate, and save yourself the hassle... Well maybe not all of it, just the My Miami frag.
Actually I'd look into how long ebay's not charging for listings and if there's time post on here first, then move it on over... to My Tank(s)! :xd: (I kid!)

Keep in mind that you're posting stuff for sale in an place you enjoy to visit (reef2reef)....selling stuff to a member who isn't happy with their purchase may end up causing unneeded grief..poor reputation.. all in a place you love to visit...........just sayin :)

I prefer Ebay...buyer and seller protection and then backed again by paypal protection..

I think right now you get free listing too...just got to pay the final value fee.
