So my Jebao mp25 just died, and I'm thinking of blighting the bullet and overpaying for a Eco-tech mp40 or mp10. Anyone have either of these in a 90. I've currently got a mag18 bringing water from the sump, and a hydor korallia power head, now that the mp25 is dead that's it. Just wondering if the MP40 would be too much supplemental flow. Thoughts. Still don't like the idea of paying this much, but it seems like a tunze wave kit would come close in price. I don't want to wait a month to get a new Jebao from fish street either.

I would go with the MP40 and dial it back. The issue with the MP10 is that you'd have to run it at 100%, and the dry-side bearings don't like that. You'll end up with noisy burnt out bearing 1 day after the two year warranty is up. With the MP40, you won't be running at 100%. I have a custom five foot 90 gallon and have two MP40's on it.

Did the Jeboa just slow up and eventually stop? They do that when they need to be cleaned. (which is at least once a quarter)

Kind of what i felt, the 10 is too little the 40 may be a bit much. Are you happy with the mp40s?

To tell you the truth I just noticed it wasn't doing anything over the weekend. Soaked it in vinegar, and still nothing. Won't spin the prop. Not sure what else to try.

Dang mag 18! I'm running a mag7 on my 75 and that's plenty. Surprised your overflow can handle it. I run an MP40 on my tank and one is enough but when I save up enough money I'm for sure getting a second one. Love my Vortech!

I have a Jebao 9000 as my return pump split four ways. I use two mp10's running at 70% and a Tunze 6025 nanostream in one corner and I have plenty of flow for my mixed reef.

So I've keep the wet side of the Jebao soaking in white vinegar. I got some spin. This thing may live for another week. Still trying to decide on replacing with another Jebao or going Eco-tech and just being done for two years at least. I believe that is what their warranty is. Still have to look at tunze some more. My last Tunze lasted about 8 years with some minor rebuilding. Wondering if that is indeed the most I can reasonably expect if not more.
