I can use some help deciding on the right pump. My tank is a innovative marine sr60 tank. It is a shallow reef. I want to put a MP10 but the unit is good for glass up to 9.5 mm glass. My tank is 10mm. If I go with the mp40 which is rated for all glass sizes, I am afraid the pump will be to powerful for the tank. The display area area is 36x20x16. What are your thought.

Personally, I would go with the 40. You can always throttle it back and run it at a max of 50%. This will be really helpful for flow all the way across the tank. The 36" is a bit of a stretch flow wise for the 10 as well if you're only using one of them.

BTW I LOVE the SR series and it was disappointing when they got rid of there 120.

Is the reef link needed or worth the buy

That I can't tell you, I have not owned the Vortech myself, yet. I've heard mixed reviews about the reeflink though. I feel like it's more of an important tool when you have multiple powerheads
