Ecosystems Miracle Mud

Miracle mud in plastic containers or or spread the mud out in bottom of fuge? Just upgraded to a 120 gal display and decided to use 30lbs of Ecosystems Miracle Mud in the fuge. Tank is 8 weeks old, used lots of live rock from my previous 90gal. The miracle mud has been in the tank for 8 weeks. Placed the mud in plastic containers. In the containers the depth of the mud is almost 3". Which is triple the recommended depth. Would it be better to place the mud directly in the fuge (minus containers)? This would provide the recommended 1" depth and provide more surface area of/for the mud.

I would keep it in the container.. I believe it's 6 months to a year you have to replace it. Easier to replace in containers.

i have an idea to use miracle mud as well...

my plan is putting in refugia about 2"
