I actually really like the look of the tank at this spectrum. I was wondering if anyone has done a clone of it for the Orphek Atlanktik full size and compact lights?

I have tweaked it like crazy but I still can't seem to get that crisp look with the Atlantiks. Everything looks a little too taupe if I crank Ch1 or Ch4

That is my goal with my Orphek Atlantik Compacts. I have yet to find it though. I like to run a very blue spectrum, but found that if it's too blue the PAR really suffers at the bottom of my 12" tank, so I am running it whiter than I usually would and is probably whiter than the AB+ program calls for. That program is basically 100% all blue, uv, and violet channels and very little white, red, green (like 24 % I believe). I run mine at 100% channel 2 and 3, 50% channel 1, 20% channel 4.
That gets me around 220-300 par at the bottom of my 12" tank. It has a look of a 14k MH bulb in my opinion, which corals really like. I do think I would like to add T5's to it though for more blue spectrum later, which would allow me to run everything a little more blue.

Yeah I am wondering if I need to add the OR light bars from Orphek in deep blues but would need to figure out a hanging solution that works with the Atlantiks.

Is there a Orphek Atlantik users mega thread?

I tried the BRS suggested settings and it's not bad. It really mimics a 14k MH with some T5 Blue+ thrown in.

Channel 4 is very red in appearance. I personally think it's too much to crank Channel 4 so high. I run 4 at only 20%. I may even lower it further. Channel 1 at 70% is too white for my tastes as well. 50/20 is about as much as I can tolerate. With T5 supplements it would be a very nice overall color and plenty of par. I think you could even run 40/10 for channel 1/4 if you wanted and it would look even better. Don't know what the long term consequences would be if not supplementing with T5s though. I'm getting good growth with my settings. Color is good too, but not quite as vibrant as my T5 tank (at least not yet, but lights only running for about a month now).

I am not supplementing with T5s but i was thinking to order new OR2 Blue plus bars... So far my colors are Ok nothing to scream about.. I did loose "red" coloration on some acros when switching from T5s to Orphek..
will try to adjust my program and see...

It's going to be hard to match the radion ab+ because the orphek has such a larger spectrum and you can't control all 14 colors or so of LED (not that I think anyone should have that much control!) so with the orphek you are not going to have the same peaks and valleys particularly with only 4 channels. Although I know it stinks when you have a look you are used to and like.

FWIW I run channels 1 and 4 only 10% less than the other channels for the bulk of the day and then have the blues on longer before bed time.

I think I just have to get used to the Orphek Atlantik Look, it's not unpleasant but it was definitely geared to mimic MH 14k Radiums I feel. However, it does without the IN YOUR FACE BRILLIANCE you get from MH where it almost feels like the tank is glowing with energy.

Guy from your experience do you think its more beneficial to run longer Ch1 and 4 at lower intensity or less hours at higher intensity ?
I am talking for SPS only

I like less hours at higher intensity. I find at higher PAR sps colors shift - I think Dana said they are protective pigments. So I peak high for a few hours and then drop vs lower intensity for longer.

How is everyone liking there programs like this? Any pictures to show? I’m looking for ideas for mine on an sps tank.

Any updates from you guys on current atlantik settings? I just got my gateway and connected to the light and looking for recommendations on overall good color. I am probably going to have mostly LPS over time with some easier SPS like digitata, caps, and whatever a green slime is, I like that one!

The app is a bit overwhelming without a meter to measure PAR and where to start with setting each channel at certain % and when.

No further updates from me. Still working and once I set it I don’t touch it!

I really dont think getting close to AB+ is possible with the Orphek due to the channel layout of diodes. Just cannot get that deeper blue look.

if someone’s done it Im all ears but Ive tried many times and just can't do it.

Thanks! What do you and others think of this light schedule? I haven't had a chance to use my light yet. 20 inch deep tank.
