I have a question,, Recently bought a pair of G3 Radion Pros from a friend who had upgraded to the new G4 Pros ,,, now that I have,, for me anyway,, "new" Ecotech Radion lights over my tank, big,, very big upgrade for me from my old lighting :) its time for me to replace my return pump,, its old,, I am going to get the Ecotech Vectra M1 return pump,,, I want to get the Battery backup for this pump,,,

Here's my question,,, what can I expect out of this battery back up as it pertains to running the Vectra M1 pump ,,, if and when my power goes off,, I looked for a You Tube video on this,,, couldn't find one though,,, I know that when you use a Ecotech battery backup for Ecoteck power heads,,,the power heads run at a reduced flow movement in your tank,,, but this can be set to higher levels,,, down side it draws more juice from the battery back up,,,

To my knowledge there is not a "general" answer to this question. The Vectra will tune itself to just above the minimum flow level that you calibrate for your return pump. This will vary from aquarium to aquarium based on how much power is necessary to meet that requirement. Ecotech recommends running the Vectra with an On/Off cycle which means when on battery power the Vectra will run at minimum for 5 minutes, then off for 30 minutes, then back on for 5, etc.

If you have Vortechs I would prioritize them for your battery backups as Mp10/40 can last for a day+ depending on how high you have them set to run during a power outage.

I over kill this ,,, as I live in an area prone to power outages,,, 1 MP40, 1 battery backup, another MP40, another battery backup,, one Vectra 1 battery back up,,, I have a generator,, but some times it takes a day or two for a hurricane to move thru :( I don't like running the generator when bad weather is moving thru,,, Thanks for the quick advice though :) I was just trying to get a rough idea how long I could count on the battery backup to power the Vectra pump,,,

Not sure, but I imagine it can last a day at the least assuming its directly under the tank. The MP40's should be more than enough for survive a temporary <24 hour outage.

I got this for the huracane Irma and it worked preaty good. I will get a marine batterie to run the vectra L1 on my new 300 gallon build.
