I have an apex, two mp40's and a vectra (return). I have my apex energy bars plugged into a UPS. When there is a power outage the apex turns off everything to help extend the UPS except the vectra, mp40's (these will go into 30% speed) and my skimmer. I get about two hours off the UPS.

I have an ecotech battery backup that is not currently installed. if i plug the ecotech battery into the wall outlet for power and connect the mp40's to it would the mp40's run until the UPS drains and would the ecotech battery then kick in to keep the mp40's running. If that is true then i could also have the outlet for the mp40s turn off and then the mp40s would run off the ecotech battery while the vectra and skimmer run off the UPS.

I just want to make sure this is true and that having the ecotech battery installed this way wouldn't cause the UPS to charge the ecotech battery in a power outage which would be kinda of stupid.

As long as the MPs have 120v they will run at what ever program speed they are set to. Once that power stops they will switch to battery power. Then run on battery power settings.

plug in mp's into wall outlet and use battery back up for them. Use UPS for the Vectra and the skimmer
