Ecotech Battery Backup

I just picked up a battery backup today and I’m wondering if anyone has this same issue. The cord that connects the battery to the pump seems to not fully insert and sticks out of the driver quite a bit. Is this an issue? Is this normal? Lmk.

Very strange. Seems like it could be a fire hazard.

Same on mine as well. I believe the outside of barrel plugs are the negative so I don't think carry any voltage. Im no electrician though lol.
