Looking to see if anyone can share their light schedule for a frag tank using ecotech gen5 blue. Mainly keeping acans, chalices, torches, zoas, mushrooms and things like that. Thanks for the help!

Need your tank specs, height of the light off the water, which Radions 15/30, and what par you‘re trying to achieve..?

Tank is 36w 24D 10tall. Using two gen5 15s with standard mounts I would say about 12” off water. I’d like to have a good 150-200 par is some areas under the light maybe and lower par areas in like 75-100 or so. Really appreciate the help. Also attaching a pic for a visual.

To get close to your Par Levels:
Coral Lab or AB+
Schedule set to 100
Point intensity at 45-50%

Spectrum all at 100% except for the following:
Red‘Greens - 15%
Warm White- 10%
Cool White- 15%
(whites can be adjusted based on your viewing pleasure… and I’m not actually sure if the Blue Radion has both options… reason why I dim down the Whites is to add more usable par in all the other spectrums.)

Photo period- 10.5hrs with an slow ramp up and ramp down (% of whites is under 5% or 0 during these periods). After I reach max point intensity plotted for 5 hours, I add another point with a 15% gradual drop over the next 2 hours, then into a 2.5 hour ramp down with whites dropping to 0% over this period, and intensity dropping to 5%. This is followed by a 1h 45min moonlight cycle - RINSE and REPEAT!!

I highly suggest renting the wet tested Par Meter from BRS to really dial in your figures. It’s about $520 up front, keep it for 60 days, then return for a refund minus I think a ~$65 restocking fee. This was a game changer for me. My corals were doing “well” but I was running below optimum Par bc I went based on my visual guide- my top rocks were only at 180, when ideally I should be at 225-250. Sadly this now brought the fear that my softies will get fried where they are.. so hopefully the acclimation mode will help them adjustment. On that note.. make sure to have your frag rack setup for 2-3 levels and expect lower level ~2” lower from the light to take away around 15-20% of the par level above.
Top 200
Middle 170
Lower 150
Bottom 125

BTW, nice looking setup!

Wow thanks for all the info. Really appreciate it. This hobby has great people in it.

Gen 5 blues are running AB+ when all settings at 100%.
