Ecotech lights configuration for 72” tank

Hi all. I’m putting up 4 xr30 gen 5 lights on a 72”x24”x28” tank. I also have four 60” Orphek or3 lights I will be mounting on the sides as supplemental lights. Anyone have any suggestions on the configuration of the lights (front to back or side to side)? I’m thinking side to side since I will have the bar lights as well. Thanks.

I would mount the xr30's evenly spaced facing front to back. then 2 OR3's in front and 2 OR3's in the back. I guess you are doing SPS or mixed reef. If so should be a good setup.

Not my tank but this is 72 inches with 4 XR 30 lights and 2 36 inch light bars supplements

I would do front to back. Use a par meter and test. Likely won’t even need the or bars.

I know of several similar tanks and you want front to back opposed to left to right.

My fear with front to back is not enough room o. The sides for the Orphek bars.

i would go front to back as well. even if you have to ditch all the light bars.
when you run them all in a line sideways the center gets hot spots as all the pucks are into just one side to side line.
if you go front to back you have 2 lines (side to side line)

if you have a par meter its will be pretty easy to see why you want it this way.
