I hear that ecotech is making a new light diffuser for the G6 Radeons. Apparently you will be able to buy an 80° diffuser to get rid of that 123° diffuser so you don't have so much light bleed out of your aquarium.

Has anybody heard about this? WWC YT Channel posted a video a couple 3 days ago and there was a person from the aperture group mentioning they are designing this 80° lens if a person doesn't like so much light spill.

Start around 3:45 seconds when the guys comes in.

Go figure I just bought 3 of the Gen 5 ones last week.

I think it’s more to deal with the horrible par numbers the g6 have lol..
Yea you have to blast the white to get higher par and that's not good for algae control at all.

I had some blues, well I still have one… it wasn’t cutting it so I went back to halides.. I ran them at 100% on ab+ so everything was on 100%

He said they were coming out with a new G6 lens I didn't hear him mention a diffuser.

People confuse lens and diffuser. It’s a lens.

Wonder if this works for the G5’s? I’d assume so. I’d love to mount my G5’s higher so I can stop bumping them when working on the tank.

I have the pro and the AB plus setting only formats the white at 24%. They are weak and if you raise the white level you open the door for algae.

It would, then lens are exactly the same on both the G5 and the G6.
What gives the G6s a larger spread is the smaller LED diodes under the lens.
I guess that difference affects point of refraction.
