I mean at this point I wouldn't bother buying the gen 3 lol I'd hold off till the gen 4 comes out, especially knowing they are stretching the timeline for new releases considerably. If you find a good deal on clusters then maybe consider it.

Actually I just read on another site that won't be named that they spoke to a customer service rep that said they were not going to be doing a gen 4 for the radions. I'm super interested to hear more about this.

I upgraded all my gen 1's to gen 3's.
The thing I like best is the improvement in color.
I had a gen 1 and a gen 3 on my 233 side by side and you could see a difference while on the same schedule.
The gen 3 blue is a crisper blue, if that makes sense.
May also be the result of adding uv to it.

Unless they find that corals need a new spectrum of light or newer better, broader spectrum, LEDs are produced, there isn't much that you can upgrade at the current time I would say.
