Ecotech mp40 QD cable extension?????

hello everyone, I'm in the process of cycling my 180 gallon reef at the moment and was wanting to tidy things up a bit in my sump area. I have 2 mp40's on both ends of the tank and am wanting to mount the controllers next to my apex which is about 3' from one side of the tank. I'll be ok mounting one controller, but on the other I need to extend the wiring in between controller and dry side. I have taken apart and know it's a 5 conductor multi strand wire but I'm not sure of the gauge. Looks like 20 but it may be 18. Has anyone ever done this?

Ecotech will do this for you for a small fee... $30 I believe. That said it can't be extended too much or it will affect the operation of the powerhead.

Thank you for the info. I'll try to contact them and see what they say. I'm only needing about 3 foot more. I can definitely see a voltage drop in very long runs but I'd say I should be ok with 3 foot.
