I'm redoing a standard 90 gal tank-- the last time I bought a wave maker was like 10 years or more ago. Are there competitors for through the glass units (no wire in the tank) of good quality and lower price?

Think ecotech still got a patent on "no wires in tank " or something like that but due to run out soon so then more manufacturers can have similar wave makers.
Pretty sure read thread saying this few months ago.

The Chinese on Aliexpress don't care for patents but even there no knock-offs available. I think they aren't easy/cheap to make else they would have done it long time.
There are no other options. I believe Ecotech's current patent goes until 2025 and you know they'll change just enough to get another 7 years.

they pay for themselves over the years as it is I'm simply amazed I don't think I've ever had a piece of equipment that's used as much last as long. I've gone thru 2 gen's of flat screen's and these are still running
