I just recently switch to two gen2's over my 60 gallon cube. here is my question, if I can make sense :) If my overall intensity is set to 100% and my individuals channels are set to 50%. What is my over all intensity, 50%? VS the main intensity being 50% and my channels set to 100% What are the advantages of controlling overall intensity by the main slider 0% - 100% or the channels? I see other folks leaving the total intensity, for most of the day, at 100% then backing off the individual channels. IE; 100,50,35,20,20 and the 0-100% slider at 100%.

Thanks for looking.

Think of the overall intensity slider as an option for beginners to vary the intensity of the lights over the course of the day. It's easy to understand and set up.

If you want to vary intensity and spectrum over the course of the day, the overall intensity slider becomes superfluous and just adds confusion, which is why most leave it at 100% and vary the individual channels instead.

I work with all the sliders at the same time.
I had Gen1 and than Gen2 now the pro's.
If you work with the color sliders and the intensity sliders at the same time you get a better color mix.
More coral color pop.
That is as advise from the tech dept from Ecotech.
Now that I have the Reeflink running it's a piece of cake especially with the mobile app, just do it from the iPhone.

Hi there,

Thank you for the response. I guess I am trying to ascertain how the individual channel % effects the over all intensity. Meaning. If my over all intensity is 100% and my channels are, hypothetically rb 100, b 60, w 50, r 20, g 20, does my intensity decease over all or is it just blending.

In that scenario, your overall intensity is decreasing as you lower the individual channels. In that configuration, your lights are running at 61.9% of their capacity.
