Hello R2R,
I am curious how other radion users are running their lights.
Artificial or Natural? Intensity? Color temp? Schedule? Height above tank?
Im running mine in artificial with blues only 50% for 10hrs and 20k %100 5hrs.
My tank is only 12 inch tall and I have the fixture about 18 inches above water.
Is this too intense or not enough light?

Thanks in advance!

I'm running 3 over a 180g (6' x 2' x 2'), about 7" off the water (they're in a canopy). I programmed them - 20k in the morning, 14k around 1:00, and back to 20k in the evening. I recently backed the 14k point down to about 80% because I have some red acans on the bottom of the tank that were turning orange. All the other corals are growing like crazy (LPS mostly, a couple SPS and several softies). Between 7pm and midnight, I have them slowly ramp down using royal blue with a little red - corals really pop!

I've got 2 fixtures over a 36" x 24" x 18" about 12" or so over the tank.

I ramp up to about 45% at 20k during the daytime but I only leave it there for about an hour or so before ramping down to a RB/B combo for the rest of the evening.

At it's brightest i'm hitting 90 PAR on the sand bed which is perfect for my acans.

Thanks! What intensity do you have the 20k setting at?

So 20k at 45% will give about 90 par on bottom?

Well, where I'm keeping my acans. Keep in mind I've got 2 fixtures so the intensity will be higher than under a single. Is there a particular measurement you're looking for?

I would say yours is probably set higher than you want it at this point. They're much brighter than they appear.

Thanks! I will try tuning the intensity down a bit. Do you own a PAR meter?

Now that I'm using my laptop, here's the exact schedule:

6:30am 0% (dark point)
7:00am 20% (custom 20k with red and green thrown in, very sun-rise-ish)
8:30am 48% 20k
1:00pm 75% 14k, 30% chance of clouds
5:00pm 85% 18k (apparent brightness is less than the 1:00pm due to the color temp.)
8:00pm 20% (custom 20k with some light blue and white)
8:30pm 20% custom fluorescence mode, 100% royal blue, 10% green, 26% hyper red
10:00pm 10% custom fluorescence mode, 100% royal blue, 16% hyper red
11:00pm 5%, same as above
11:59pm 0% (dark point)
