i have a question on these led light i have a 90 gallon tank 48, 18, 24 stander. my tank is a mixd reef. i am thinking i need two light ether two echotech or two of the 120w maxspect. looking for input on these light what people like dont like, is two good for that size tank all that good stuff thank for looking and hopping for some good infor. this will be my first led light.

I love my radion. I can't speak to the maxspect personally but my buddy has one and his colors are sick. You probably can't go wrong eitherway.

Thanks for all the great in put. What's the point of posting question when only one person answer by the way thank you.

Have to be patient, people are more than willing to help, the only issue is you need to wait for someone who can answer your specific question to stumble along the thread

Never owned radion not worth price but my razor is nice just.dont like the idea or fan turning on when hits 120 degrees

I like my radions but maxspect puts out a good product. I went with radion for a few reasons. First they have alot of versatility when it comes to color combos from 5k to 20k and everything in between with the push of a button. Second ecotech promised this model wouldnt be replaced and instead would have an upgrade path so I wouldnt have to ever buy a whole new fixture as tech improves but buy the upgrades they have released new led configs, tir lenses, and additional channels already. Lastly ecotech has an outstanding reputation and great customer service. I think any route you take you will be happy. Just look at the recomended mounting heights of each fixture, light coverage, and things you know you want in a fixture. No two fixtures are designed for the same application the radion is designed to be mounted pretty low to the water compared to some other fixtures so it may not even be an option for some people. Read, compare, and make ONE purchase thats all a guy can hope to do! Good luck!

Thanks for the in put. I have seen that the echotech price has dropped dose this mean that there are coming out with a new version? And would two echotech cover a 90 gallon 48 18 24 with good light spread?

I dont have either of the two you mentioned although I was a long time metal halide addict.I picked up 2 of the dimmable value fixtures from reef breeders and I absolutely LOVE them.Oh and they were $200 each shipped.Like I said I havent owned either of the ones mentioned but I cant imangine myself being much happier.Hope it helps.

They are coming out with another version, the pro model..... Radion â„¢ XR30w Pro | EcoTech Marine

I
have the standard radion, and like it alot! And Ecotech has alot better customer service should something happen IMO.

One thing that I do not like about the ecotech radion is that if an LED burns out, you have to replace the puck.

I have 3 radions and I am about to get 3 more for my tank. The colors are great and I like the fact I can set them and forget it. I also stand by ecotech because I had an accident and a unit fell in the water. I emailed them and explained what happened and asked the price to repair. I sent the unit in and they replaced the damaged parts for 80 bucks. I must say they have me as a customer for life. :-)

the razor is not even meant to compete with the radion! The Maxspect P Series are, however. The razor is a shallow tank mixed reef or an lps light. They use cheaper leds in those lights than in the P series. HTH.

i cant speak for the razor but i went with the mazzara over the radions i just like the color spectrum they put out alot better and in my opinion look alot sexier over my tank than 2 radions would have

well thanks, you guys are making me sold on the echtech. so what you think 2 over a 90 gallon 48L24h18w and how far off the water line you keeping the echotch? and is the up grade on the leans good one to get with it?

i am pretty sure i read that the ecotech dont work with mac only pc. that being side i have a mac. so are the lights easy to program with out a pc? and are they going to come out with a mac program think there are a lot of mac people out there.
