Hi all. I made a little par map of my Redsea reefer 250 under 60 to 100% power using ecotech gen3 radion xr15s with the new diffuser. May be of use to you if you have a similar sized tank with similar lights
I have 3 lights on the my tank and I am a running a slightly modified sps ab+ program

I'm putting the diffusers on my XR30 G4 lights this weekend. Did you measure before and after PAR levels so you would know how much to increase the intensity to maintain the same PAR levels?

I did, have a look here

I think you would need to crank lights by 10 to 15% to make up for the reduction in par from diffusers (at least in my tank)

Thanks. I've got two XR30's on my Red Sea 525. Not sure if I need to out a 15 between them to get smooth / even lighting across the tank. I'm concerned that if I move the 30's out towards the ends to put the 15 in the center with even spacing I'll get to much "spill" over the ends of the tank.

It depends on what corals you want to keep and if they will benefit from the added light / evenness. Most people that have some success with sps and radions have 1.5 to 2x recommended number lights base on coverage alone

I have Radion G4's at home (no diffuser). What depth are your corals sitting at?

The standard Radion mount puts the lights about 8 inches above the water line, or about 7 inches from the top edge of the tank. Corals are at various depths, with the few SPS I have anywhere from approximately 5 inches to 7 inches below the water line. Softies and LPS are scattered around lower than that. Tank glass is 22 inches tall and a few corals are on the bottom sand bed.

@tenurepro when you say 62%, 80%..... are you saying AB+ schedule with the total power slider at those percentages? Or the intensity when you hover over the dot on ecotech live?

So I issue apex Neptune and the interface is a bit different than ecosmartlive but what I mean is power on apex = brightness on ecosmartlive
So select one of the points in the ab+ schedule, go to the advanced sliders and change the brightness (last slider on the right) to 62% or 70% etc etc

The intensity is something that I didn’t usually bother with, as it is the product of the spectrum and the brightness/power; I simply pick the spectrum and the brightness/power and test from there

Doing that changes the intensity slider to the same as the brightness slider. If i do that for 80%, overall intensity is at 52% on peak times. Is that what you're saying? I've been running at 100% brightness at 100, 1oo, 20, 15, 15 which is closer to 63%. Maybe I need to dial it back a little.....

Thanks for the help!

Yes I checked that 80% brightness ecotech smart live gives your 52% intensity.

A better way to figure out where your at is with a par meter
