Hey, i have a question about light for my future tank. Tank size is roughly 100x65x55cm. I have a chance to get 3 radion XR15 gen 5 for about 1100 usd without brackets. Second option is 2x XR 30 gen 4 for 1000 usd with brackets. Witch one would you recomend? Im planing to have mix reef tank for start and then sps dominate at some later point.
Whta do you think about G3 XR30 are they any good compared to newer models?

Ty for help.

2 of the XR30's over a 100 cm tank is alot of light. Do you know the age of the XR30's? Even with some brackets, $1000 seems alot.

3 of the XR15's are also alot of light for a 100cm tank. But starting out using just 2 of them would work until coral starts growing and creating shadowing. Then the 3rd fixture would be handy to have.

When people ask about using more smaller lights than a couple bigger lights, I always think about how many plugs I'm using and the amount of cords.

If you are comfortable using your phone to control Mobius then the gen 5 lights are newer and will probably last longer.

I actually prefer the gen 4 fixtures myself. I just bought a gen 4 XR15 and will use Ecotech Live to control it with my laptop.
Because of the age of any gen 3 model, I'd pass

I agree with everything mfinn said in his/her response. I've had both the gen5 and gen3 versions. Two of my three gen3's are still working great after several years, but one did bite the dust last year.

Yea, better to get new one, less risk involved then older gen 3. Although even gen 3 in eu aren't that cheap.
