I have heard or seen throughout some of my research that ecotech products don't work with the Apex? I am at the stage where I want to get the top apex kit to control everything but I remember seeing ecotech makes it so there stuff isn't compatible??

The only Ecotech equipment that APEX doesn't control for the moment (But they will in the short future) is the Vectra, but Radions and Vortechs can be controlled by it.

That is not correct. The only current Ecotech products that can not be controlled using the WXM module would be The older Non-Wireless vortech pumps and the newest Vectra DC return pumps.

With the wxm, which is 25$ more expensive than the reeflink(and doesn't depend on a multi-hundred dollar setup) you get the following:
No acclimation mode
No control over cloud percentages (via Fusion, it's borked and has no "percentage" chance, it was the same all the time when on vs off)
Same with storm percentages
No sunrise/sunset
The preset kelvin settings are waaaay off
To do other coordinating functions/methods people will just tell you "you CAN do it! ..........in the classic control panel" :|
I didn't even have vortech's at the time so I can't tell you what's broken in that section

I inquired at least 5-10 times over 2 years and always got the same response:
"We're currently working on implementing that!"

Meanwhile they came out with like 5 new products, none of them very inexpensive. Then finally the VP of sales told me "we don't want to confuse users, so those functions will never be added".

I don't usually aggressively complain about products, but the Apex is tooted as being super awesome and mature, but after 2 years of using Fusion and more than half of the functionality still being in the classic control panel, and on top of it the customer service lied to me that whole time, and then they STILL charge 25 bucks more than the reeflink!? lol...

I got rid of the Apex, don't regret it one bit.

When the reef link can control my MH, t5, hot water circ pump, chiller, skimmer, gyres, dosing, and ato I might consider getting one. For now the only thing it might be useful for is changing speed on vectra pumps, but I've never changed the flow on rtn pumps before.
