Hi Guys,

So I am working on plans for a future 93 gallon cube build. I am doing some research for return pumps and have a few questions about the vectra L1 for my scenario. I am going to be using an Ecotech XR30w Pro for lighting and two MP40WQD for flow. So naturally I wanted to look into the Vectra L1 for my return pump to keep the Ecotech ecosystem going. However my DT will be on my main floor and will be drilling holes in the floor to run the sump directly below it in the basement. I haven't done an exact calculation but am estimating an approximate 15 ft. of head pressure. Will the L1 be adequate at this head pressure? I see it is rated at 3100 gph but am assuming that is at 0 head pressure. Has anyone used it in this manner and still get a decent amount of flow?

Several of the sites say 21 feet head. Not sure what the flow would be then there is no chart out there.

VECTRA L1 Specifications:

Pump Type: Centrifugal / DC
Flow: 3100 gph (11500 lph)
Pressure: 21.5' (6.5m)

I was going to try and replace my hammerhead with one. But it feeds 240g, skimmer, and 2x 60g frag tanks. I may need a 2nd pump

I have noticed the 21.5' head. But I also know in real world that could be different so was trying to get some real world figures. Mine will just be a return pump for this one system. Skimmer will have it's own pump and sit in the sump.

Looking at the flow chart on EcoTechs website, you may have 600-700 gph at 15' of head.
While I love both my Vectras, I would think there might be a better pump for your application.
Maybe a reeflo?
