Ecotech Vectra L2 dead - Off to the LFS!

So, my Ecotech Vectra L2 return pump, 5 months old died today quite suddenly!

The Apex did well to alert me and I am now off to the LFS to borrow a replacement.

Initial fault finding suggest that something has indeed burnt. Anyone seen this issue before with these pumps?

Vectras are garbage. Sicce, new Red Sea or COR is the way to go (other than Abyss, of course).

Both my Vectras are doing fine after 8 years so I think they are great pumps.
I haven't seen anyone post anything shorts in cords, but that can happen to any electrical device.
Had a Tunze pump short out a few months ago.
