Hey there, just wondering if I could get some guidance on the Versa pump that I just tried to setup last night. Note: I also posted this in the Ecotech sponsor forums but thought I might get more of a response here.

I bought this pump about 2 months ago (i.e., jumped as soon as I found one in stock) and have been waiting to set it up once I added corals and noticed a consistent ALK drop.

That’s said, I just installed the pump last night and have been getting a “sputtering” effect where I don’t get a full stream when manually running the pump full power through Mobius. This creates wildly inaccurate dosing when I try to do a calibration (i.e., calibrating to dose 30ml over 2 mins gets me ~5-10ml each time I run the calibration).

Here’s a link to a YouTube video showing what I’m talking about.

I also noticed that the inlet push connect has developed a crust overnight from where it must be leaking. I have taken it out cleaned it and reconnected the inlet securely multiple times and I'm still getting the "sputtering" effect. Also it sounds like air is sucking when the pump is run at full speed, not sure if that is normal?

I am using the versa tubing so that’s not the issue.

Any other ideas or am I just unlucky?

I bought 2 versas and had the same issue with the push connects on both. Contact Ecotech and the will send replacements.

For what it's worth, I have been happy with the pumps since.
