Do I leave this ring in or take it out?
It sits loose inside and makes a sound when dosing.
I don't see this plastic ring in video's of the pump on YouTube.

Leave it in, its a retaining ring so the tube stays centered. What part of it is making noise? It shouldn't be loose either.

Thanks Poochaku for the reply and explanation! I found this older thread as well. Seems the retainer ring is an add on earlier models did not have, which explains why it wasn't in those videos I have seen on YouTube. The sound isn't loud, only when dosing bigger amounts in a shorter time. I think the retaining ring is tapping the transparent plastic cover. Could just be it needs some breaking in. Thanks again.

I can't speak for OP, but it was 1 of 2 things or a combination of both. 1: the much known problem with the push to connect fittings not sealing properly which Ecotech has fixed. 2: is that some tubes had a tenancy of rolling over forward [towards the plastic cover] and not properly being pinched by the rollers. that has also been addressed and fixed, with a retainer ring.

Either way, all the problems have been addressed and fixed. You wont regret getting these pumps.

leave it in. Ensure that the tubing is nicely secured and not loosely fitted. There will be a slight sound when dosing just the way the dosing pump works.
