Ecotech Vortech MP-10 or MP-40? (JBJ 45)

I am looking to purchase one of the vortech powerheads for my JBJ 45 (26.5x16x19). At this time I am thinking about purchasing a new one and being that the MP-40's are only $60 more I am wondering if I should go for the larger size or if it will be too large for my tank size? I am also concerned that the MP-10 will not work for my tank as I have 10mm glass. I do not have plans to upgrade anytime in the next 3 years due to space restraints so that is not a factor. I am just trying to get the most bang for my buck.
