So I'm in the market for some powerheads, debating between 2 mp40s or the 2 pump kit by Neptune, huge price difference wondering if anyone has used both and what they like better. I had an mp10w on my old set up and loved it but the $300 price difference is tempting

Personally I don't care if the powerhead is made of gold. Nothing beats the ecotech powerhead line.

I have a Mp40 and really like it in the lower part of the tank. I also have two Gyre's in the top of the tank

Yea I liked my mp10 unfortunately I got my 60 cube rebuilt when I moved not thinking they'd change the thickness of glass magnet isn't strong enough now so I have to upgrade to the 40s

How about head dispersion with the WAV? I am leaning toward the WAV but may have issues with the heat since it looks like the motor is in the tank.

I have a pair of WAV's in my 120 and do not have any heat issues at all. With the living room at 78 for 18 hours a day the tank never gets above 81 with no fans or active cooling. The tank has LEDs but a full canopy and the sump is completely enclosed in the stand so minimal airflow is going over the water. Are you having heat issues already? If not, I doubt the WAV would put you over the edge.
