I currently have a 4 bulb ati t5 fixture and am looking to add some nice actinic blue supplement to my 2-B+, 1-AB special, and Purp+ bulb combo. I was looking at maybe adding one 445nm stunner strip in order to do this. Just wondering if it would add pop and maybe some shimmer to my corals when only 2(b+ and purp+) of my 4 t5 bulbs are on... I have heard that it will and that it won't. Any opinions on this? Also, my tank is a 40br so it's fairly shallow and I'm not concerned with added pop when all the bulbs are on.

I know someone with one on there tank and it seems to add some pop to the tank. You could get The ecoxotic panorama pro module which is like 69$ and it definitely will add pop. The leds on it are 1.7 watts each. I use 7 of those modules(3 12k modules and 4X 445nm) and it's enough to grow sps on my frag tank. It would definitely add pop. If you did go that route make sure to get the reflector with it.

dougers, I used one on my 55 bow front, exact same model your talking about. I was using 2 bulb T5 at the time so my situation was different but it def added pop to the corals and helped with color. I going to use it again for my 29g frag tank Im setting up in the near furture. 4 bulb T5 fixture with the strip stickied to the underside of one of the fixtures. It gives the glow like LED's would I like it.

I ordered one of those from marine depot when I had halides and couldn't see it unless halides were off:( I returned it and was able to find some current powerbrites and they did the trick! Unfortunately they don't make the powerbrites but thinking there are better options out there now.

Thanks for the info! I think you sold me, and even if there isn't a lot of pop when the t5's are on it would still be a nice moonlight:)

I'm guessing maybe it wasn't noticable because the halide already adds plenty of shimmer. Curious as to how deep your tank was...

It was a 40 tall I believe 16" tall but can't remember. I also had 20k halides so there was plenty of blue already. BUT they were good for moonlights for sure.

Unless you get a Panorama Pro Module then FORSURE you'll see a difference. I have one for sale but I can't post cuz I'm too new, PM me if you're interested! It's still under warranty.

I bought a 48" royal blue strip to supplement my 8 t5's and it is amazing!!! Will be buying another one in the future.

Update. It does add some blue tint and maybe a hint of shimmer but when the t5's go out it's amazing, the greens almost look yellow. Thanks for all the advice!

I'm currently using 3 12" blue/magenta stunners and 1 24" blue stunner with my 250w phoenix bulb in a lumenbright reflector and can tell the difference when they are on/off with the halide. My tank is only 20" deep but needless to say...I'm very happy with my stunners.

Following along I'm thanking about adding the same to my tank. Can some one post some photos with leds on and with them off while your t5s are on.
