I am starting a refugium and adding some Caulerpa. Having had Caulerpa in my tank years ago, I had to do some heavy pruning. Some investigation shows that Caulerpa is consumed by humans (my surprise). Has anyone partaken in eating their excess macroalgae? It certainly would be fresh.

I eat store bought nori as a snack a lot, and I've ate sea lettuce that I got out of the ocean before, but eating macro algea from my tank seems gross to me. After all I see what comes out of the protein skimmer.

I have eaten spiralina and red Ogo from my tank. Both macros are used in chevichee recipe. I once posted eating red Ogo from the tank and a chief in Kansa City asked how I cleaned off the pods. When I said that the protein was on the houuse, I heard him laugh all the way from Kansa.

Green Grape Caulerpa is good with a sprinkl8 of lime Juice.

I have agardhiella growing in one of my jarquariums, and it's crossed my mind to give it a nibble; maybe I will when it grows. I'd certainly eat sargassum if I had any; it's nicely crunchy and salty when I gather it and eat it from the ocean when in the Bahamas.
