Hi, I was just looking at my tank and I saw this very long flat looking worm coming out of a rock. It looks like the Lochness Monster , the way it was searching around.. I have a video but it won't let me post it from phone. Anyone have an idea of what type if worm it is? I attached some pics, if anyone knows how I can post the video from my phone, please let me know and I can post the video.. Thans!

Thanks guys! I googled Eunice worm, it looks similar in the body, but the head is very different. It does not have the 'tentacles' that I saw on the Eunice worm. It has a flat head and it does't appear to be preadatory from what I saw. My mandarin was eating by the rock and it didn't appear interested in him at all. It actually darted back into the rock when he turned around. I have to figure out a way to get the video uploaded. Thanks for all of your replies! I hope it is not a mean worm. I haven't any added rock in almost a year. so it has to have been in there for at least that long. My other rock I have had for about 7 years. and I have not had any mysterious fish deaths... Thanks again all!

I think I might have ID'd the worm. I was looking in one of my Marine books, The Modern Coral Reef Aquarium, vol 3 , and they have a section on worms. I think it might be from the worm family, Nereididae. It says that some bristle worms actually resemble the eunicids. Hopefully that's all it is. Thanks again!

Well researching a little more, and found a worm that has the exact flat head that this worm has. It is called a Oenone Fulgida worm. I have to reseach a little more. Whatever it is, I just hope it remains harmless

You can tell that the legs did look similar to a eunice except maybe less of them. I thought that the head look different although it is incredibly difficult to see when you zoom in it gets very blurry. But it did not look like it had enough of the antenna. Very interested to see how it turns out. Please update when you are sure

Thx Guys! I took a video off of my phone onto my camera and am waiting for photobucket to let me copy the url link.. it will not work right now, but I took a head shot from the video.. maybe it will lend a little more identity
