Hello, new to the forum. There is a lot of mixed information on eels and I'm looking to see what everyone's opinions are. I have a 40 breeder that I'm wanting to put an eel in.

It doesn't have any fish in it just some cuc and corals. What species of eel would be comfortable in the 40 breeder? I do plan on burying pvc under the sand to give it extra places to hide.

I am most interested in the fimbriated eel but I'm thinking the tank might be a bit small. Thanks in advance!

I have a Dwarf Golden Moray, Gymnothorax melatremus, in a 75 that's been doing very well for 4 years now with live ghost shrimp, live glass shrimp and Rod's food. Their max length is less than 12" so I would think it'll be fine in a 3' long tank.

Dwarf Goldens look really nice, their price tag, not so much. Lol Thats originally what I was looking to get until I saw how much they go for. That and they are pretty hard to find.

Welcome to r2r. The only one for that size is the dwarf golden eel. @robiyou have had experience with this species. Can you give any insight?

Thanks! This might just be a good excuse to start up another tank. I really like the yellow head eels. They're so pretty. Lol But after dumping so much into this 40 I'll have to work pretty hard at convincing my gal to go with it.
