Any baby to grown photos? Curious what the change in appearance is like. Baby to grown banana eel would be awesome!

Got it at around 6-8 inches, skinny noodle. It's like 2-2 1/2 feet now.

When I bought my first Banana I feel in love with it and then bought two more! One was larger and one was smaller. The three did good for a while in a 125g. But then I had to treat the tank and I put them in a 75g with a bunch of live rock. No fish. They did well for a while but the the largest one started picking on the smallest one. I removed the smaller one and was going to trade it to a LFS but it jumped out of the holding tank (it was covered with egg crate but had one small corner broken!) So I lost that one which was very upsetting.

I have them for about 9 months and they have grown quite a bit. Not so much in length but in width. The two remaining ones get along fine (unless I am feeding) and they will come out to see me when I go by the tank. As they have matured their black spots have become more pronounced and the yellow has become much deeper. It was previously a bit washed out.

I have a picture of the two from about 9 months and the larger one from this week. You can see how much fatter he is and his colors are really great!

I have two more eels on hold. A small Brazilian Dragon and a very unique white Zebra. And I currently have a Hawaiian Dragon in the 125g the Bananas used to be in. I do not dare to put them together! My Hawaiian Dragon ate my XL Rainbow Basslet. So when I am done I will have 5 eels! Holy cow.

When i got him (24-26in) vs a few months ago (36in)

Wow. He's really cool. What size tank do you have him in? What tank mates? Hard dealing with nitrates?

I am hoping my Hawaiian gets to 36"+ but eager to get him into a larger tank. He's 24" now and super fat.

Right now hes temporarily stuffed in a 75g, but im in the middle of setting up a 230g for him. Hes housed with a desjardini, long nose butterfly, and lamarck angel. And yes maintaining nitrates has been dang near impossible. Takes an algae scrubber, refugium, oversized skimmer, and 30% changes weekly. The 230g will have a denitrator and much larger refugium so i think that will help alot.

Your whitemouth/ goldentail eel is beautiful though. I had a similar one 15 years ago.
