Hi All,
I have a Bubble Magus Curve 7 on my 120 gallon and like it because it works well. However, after connecting to my Apex I found that it's actually using a whopping 69-71 watts (SP2000 pump)! That despite the pump label saying 22 watts. I heard from someone else that their 18 watt Curve 5 skimmer is pulling 40 watts. I also have a Curve 5 skimmer that I just tested, and mine is pulling 41-42 watts. Very frustrating to say the least since these run 24/7 and apparently use a lot of juice!
So, anyone have suggestions on replacement pumps that are (confirmed to be) low wattage? Or other skimmers that are low wattage? Maybe Simplicity skimmers? How much wattage do your skimmer pumps actually pull? Thanks,
--Kyle
