Egg crate cleaners? Small Frag Tank Algae control.

So I have a mini frag tank, 20 gallon. And I have the bottom lined with egg crate so I don't scratch up the bottom with rubble etc. I'm having an issue with my trochus snails... they seem to get stuck in the little nooks and crannies.... any ideas on what I could add to help with Algae control? Adding a bunch of Pods to help...

Pods I think are great, sometimes for small frag tanks like that I'll just soak the egg create in freshwater or an acid solution once a month, or even whenever you are cleaning pumps.

Eggcrate or frag racks will build up a bit of algae at first and algae just disappears after if conditions are good. Believe they do leach a bit of phosphates at first....

Solid, going to add a cleaning regimen to the crates as @Cichlid23 notes and just be patient.
