Egg crate?

Where do you get the plastic egg crate looking stuff seen in frag tanks and LFS tanks that they put there frags on. I am looking fo some to make a shelf in my tank for some new corals coming in so I can get them to grow larger before I incorperate them into my tank.

You can find it at most hardware stores (Home Depot, Lowes), its called Lighting Diffusers commonly in those places.

Hey bro like Josh said you can get it at the local Lowes in Fort O, I know. It's over near the lumber and its about $12 a sheet I believe.

Oh ok I looked for like 30 mins and tried to explain it to some people over at lowes and they sent me in the direction of baby gates. Told me to cut them, after I spent 40 bucks on the gate and could only use like 10% of it. Thanks I will go look again.

Yea its usually hard to spot too, down low at every hardware store I go to.

They are called light diffusers.

They are over on like the second or third isle from the lumber side and they are on one of the back isles, not near the front, but the back. They have it, trust me.

Some people also prefer the black, but its alot more expensive and has to usually be ordered online.

If you need to explain it to the store it is made to go in a 2ft by 4ft florescent light fixture to diffuse the light. It will be on the isle normally where the Drop ceiling inserts are.

is there a way to make the shelf like using pvc or is it easier to put suctions on it and place it up agaist the glass

I would cut a piece and glue it to a magnetic float cleaner in the tank. thats how all mine are and they work great. most locals have done the same

I made a large one (24x10) for my tank and used to mag floats against the glass, and then one piece of pvc to steady it

i found mine at home depot, in the lighting area. its really lighting diffuser. my orthodontist office uses it in their flourescent fixtures.

Technically called a "plastic louver panel" if that helps you any. Took me over 10 years of using it to learn that.

Got some in the garage if you don't need a full sheet. Think it was 12-15 bucks at home depot.
